Building on the Dream 2011: The Mwamba Family

Nellie Simpson, 817.810.5307

On March 3-4, 2011 Trademark employees participated in building a home in Fort Worth, Texas for Marco and Mary Mwamba, and their daughters Beki (17), Meda (15), and Mary (8) and sons Banks (13), Antoine (11) and Marco (9).

Mr. and Mrs. Mwamba have both been employed by Omni Hotel for nearly two years.
The Mwamba Family, Habitat for Humanity, along with area sponsors and volunteers will build in partnership during Building on the Dream, Spring 2011.

“We live with our five children in a four bed-room apartment in a crowded apartment complex. Both of us work, but even with our incomes combined, we don’t make enough money to afford a traditional mortgage. Habitat is affordable, especially with the no interest loan it provides. We would like to give our children a safe, stable place to call home instead of throwing our money away on rent each month. Habitat was even able to work with us to find a location for our new home near our jobs. We look forward to owning a home of our own where we can truly feel comfort-able and established.”
