FORT WORTH, Texas (September 20, 2013) – Trademark Property Co. today announced expansion and renovation plans for The Shops of Saddle Creek, the 148,000-square-foot lifestyle center in Germantown, Tennessee.

Saddle Creek is located on Poplar Avenue near Germantown Road in the Memphis metro area’s most affluent suburb. Widely regarded as the first lifestyle center in the U.S. since opening in 1987, Trademark took over operation of the property in May 2011 and began conducting a feasibility study on potential expansion and renovation.

“Saddle Creek is one of the most important lifestyle centers in the country,“ said Trademark CEO Terry Montesi. “We are very excited to be the steward for the evolution of the iconic property, which will allow us to improve our guest experience and create an even more inviting place.”

The expansion will take place on the southwest side of Poplar Avenue and West Street with the demolition of approximately 20,000 square feet of existing space in Saddle Creek South, and the addition of approximately 40,000 square feet of retail space in the area located between Saddle Creek South and Saddle Creek West, a net gain of approximately 20,000 square feet of space. The project also includes remodeled building exteriors for Saddle Creek South and West with work slated to begin in late 2013 or early 2014. Trademark will also study ways to update the façade of Saddle Creek North.

The property is home to the premier collection of more than 40 fashion and specialty retailers in the Memphis and Mid-South trade area, including Anthropologie, Apple, Banana Republic, Brooks Brothers, Chico’s, Coach, Free People, J. Crew, kate spade new york, and Madewell.
