Steven W. Toppel joins Trademark as Executive Vice President


 FORT WORTH, Texas (May 29, 2014) – Trademark Property Co., the Fort Worth-based retail and mixed-use development, investment and services firm, today announced Steven W. Toppel as Executive Vice President. Toppel will begin his new role June 3.

With more than 28 years of experience in commercial real estate, Toppel will oversee leasing for Trademark’s portfolio of lifestyle centers, malls, and mixed-use developments.

He joins Trademark after 13 years with General Growth Properties, serving as Senior Director of Leasing since 2006. Prior experience includes Director of Leasing for The MGHerring Group/Trammell Crow Faison and Senior Leasing Representative for Clarion Realty Services in Dallas, as well as vice president roles for real estate brokerage firms Davidson Conine Realty Advisors and Dunhill Partners, also in Dallas.

Toppel also serves as Commander, United States Navy (Reserve), Naval Intelligence, since 1989, with several tours of duty including Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan, and Operation Enduring Freedom/Noble Eagle-Philippines, and Operation Desert Storm in the Persian Gulf.

East Hampton Sandwich Co. To Open at WestBend



DALLAS, TX…..East Hampton Sandwich Co. will be expanding to Fort Worth in August of 2014.  Twenty-six year old CEO – Hunter Pond – and the Post Venture team (parent company for East Hampton Sandwich Co.) have signed a lease at 1605 S. University – in the WestBend mixed-use development.  The new 2,130 square foot site marks the third location for this growing company.

Most recently named Top 21 Sandwich Shops in America, the restaurant has hit a stride and is recognized as a premier fast format restaurant for superior quality sandwiches.  Pond chose this particular Fort Worth site due to the close proximity to a flourishing neighborhood, Texas Christian University Campus and 5-minute drive from downtown.  He says, “My partners and I are thrilled to be in Fort Worth because of the booming atmosphere of the city. Trademark Hired to Manage Burr Ridge Village Center


 FORT WORTH, Texas (May 19 2014) — Trademark Property Co. announced it has been hired to handle management, marketing, accounting, and construction for Burr Ridge Village Center, a 232,000-square-foot mixed-use lifestyle center in Burr Ridge, Illinois.

Located 15 miles west of Chicago, the center is the “downtown” of the highly affluent community and includes 195,000 square feet of retail and restaurants, 37,000 square feet of office, and 196 luxury residential units. Developed by The Opus Group in 2007 and owned by Founders Properties, Burr Ridge Village Center boasts an integrated approach to its design, construction and leasing, with tenants including Kohler Waters Spa, named Chicago magazine’s “Best Day Spa,” as well as LOFT, Banana Republic, J. Trademark Partnering with Rice University in The Village


        FORT WORTH, Texas (May 15, 2014) – Trademark Property Co. has been selected by Rice Management Company, which has responsibility for the Rice University endowment, to oversee asset and property management, leasing, and repositioning of the Village Arcade, a 195,000-square-foot open-air fashion-focused retail center that anchors the beloved and historic Rice Village district of Houston, Texas.

Rice University has exercised an option to acquire the leasehold interest in this two-level center from the developer and current owner, Weingarten, with closing set for the third quarter of this year. Located west of Rice University, the Village Arcade is the largest retail property in Rice Village and features 50 stores and restaurants, 60 percent national, including, Ann Taylor, Ann Taylor Loft, Athleta, Banana Republic, Chico’s, Gap, Kendra Scott, MAC, Sephora, Soma, Starbucks, Victoria’s Secret and White House | Black Market.

Trademark and Rice plan to improve the shopping experience throughout the property and Rice Village more broadly via enhanced streetscape, landscaping, storefronts and facades that will set the stage for the modern evolution of this eclectic urban mixed-use district, which dates back to the 1930s.
