FORT WORTH, Texas (August 31, 2011) – Hillwood announced today that Cinemark Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: CNK), one of the world’s largest motion picture exhibitors, has purchased land at Alliance Town Center in north Fort Worth to construct a 14-screen, all-digital movie theatre featuring the company’s new Cinemark NextGen design concept. The theatre will be located along I-35W north of Sam Moon and will provide yet another new lifestyle amenity for the rapidly growing area in and around AllianceTexas, Hillwood’s 17,000-acre master-planned community.

“We’re excited about the addition of Cinemark’s state-of-the-art theatre to the great mix of retail and entertainment offerings at Alliance Town Center,” said Mike Berry, president of Hillwood Properties. “With 800,000 square feet of retail now on the ground, and with some of the top-performing locations in the U.S. for leading national retailers, Alliance Town Center has become a destination of choice for the phenomenally successful AllianceTexas community. Cinemark’s new theatre will further reinforce the desirability of living and working in the fast-growing north Fort Worth area.”

Long recognized as a pioneer in the theatrical exhibition industry, Cinemark is taking the cinema entertainment experience to the next level. Slated to open just in time for the 2012 summer blockbuster season, the new Cinemark NextGen theatre will offer the latest technology, cutting-edge amenities and customer-preferred options all under one roof. All of the stadium-seated auditoriums will offer a state-of-the-art viewing environment with wall-to-wall screens, 100 percent digital projection and enhanced sound systems equipped with higher quality speakers and 7.1-capable digital surround sound. Additionally, the theatre complex will contain an extremely popular Cinemark XD Extreme Digital Cinema auditorium. The lobby will be designed around one of Cinemark’s innovative self-serve concession stands offering freshly popped popcorn, Coca-Cola fountain beverages and favorite candy brands.

The new Cinemark XD Extreme Digital Cinema auditorium will be the fourth in the Dallas area. The XD auditorium is the largest in the theatre complex and offers a complete entertainment environment featuring a wall-to-wall and ceiling-to-floor screen, plush seating and a custom JBL sound system with higher-end components and 7.1-capable digital surround sound. The digital images will be delivered by a Doremi server and a Barco DLP digital projector. The XD auditorium will exhibit the newest movies every week, including 2D and Real D-3D pictures.

“This Cinemark NextGen movie theatre will be a flagship location for our customers to enjoy in north Fort Worth,” states Alan Stock, Cinemark’s Chief Executive Officer. “The new complex will provide the best movie-going experience available and will be the perfect complement to the 19 theatres that Cinemark currently operates in our home town of Dallas-Ft.Worth.”

Other amenities coming soon to AllianceTexas to serve residents of the nearby area include:

  • New Shopping and Dining – Bucking a national trend in declining retail site selection, Alliance Town Center became home last year to some of the country’s leading retail brands, including Rooms to Go, Olive Garden, JoS. A. Bank, Kroger Marketplace and Chick-fil-A. On the near-term horizon for the center are the opening of a 7,500-square-foot Mi Cocina Mexican restaurant by year end, a 2,735-square-foot restaurant for Baker Bros., and storefronts for Cinch Cleaners, Great Clips, Pacific Dental and Green Tea House to be located within 17,000 square feet of retail space currently under construction next to the recently opened Kroger Marketplace.
  • Texas Health Resources Harris Methodist Hospital Alliance – Currently under construction and scheduled to open in the Fall of 2012, Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Alliance will be a 262,000-square-foot facility and will be the first hospital in the AllianceTexas area. Upon completion, the facility will offer traditional hospital services including: general medicine, in and outpatient surgery, emergency services, imaging services, rehabilitation, women and infant services, physician offices as well as wellness and prevention education. Located on more than 40 acres at the corner of Golden Triangle Blvd. and I-35W, Texas Health Alliance will offer a personalized health care experience to meet the needs of this evolving community.
  • HCA’s E+R at Alliance – The Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) is under construction with its 10,500-square-foot emergency care facility located at the southern end of Alliance Town Center, which is scheduled to open in Fall 2011. The 24-hour-a-day, emergency room will have 12 exam rooms and will be staffed with hospital trained Emergency Board Certified Physicians and Registered Nurses. The Emergency Room will also provide laboratory and radiology services including CT Scanner.
