Sports Authority Signs at Santa Fe Place

FORT WORTH, Texas (June 19, 2012) – Trademark Property Company, the Fort Worth-based retail and mixed-use development, investment and services firm, today announced Sports Authority, one of the nation’s top full-line sporting good chains, will open at Santa Fe Place mall in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Construction on the 40,000-sf store, an existing anchor space formerly occupied by Mervyn’s, is scheduled to begin in October with opening slated for spring 2013. It will be only the second Sports Authority in New Mexico; the other store is located in Albuquerque.

Trademark has been directing the remerchandising and redevelopment of the 571,238-square-foot Santa Fe Place, Northern New Mexico’s only regional mall, since the mall was acquired by a private equity fund.

“The transformation of this mall continues to move in the right direction,” said Trademark Chairman and CEO Terry Montesi. “The first step was to stabilize the mall by adding an attractive new anchor to join Dillard’s, JCPenney and Sears, and Sports Authority fits the bill perfectly.”
