Blatt Beer & Table opening first Texas location in Dallas

Flagship Restaurant Group, based in Omaha, Nebraska, will open Blatt Beer & Table this spring in Preston Hollow Village, 7859 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas. Blatt joins fellow Flagship concept Blue Sushi Sake Grill at the development. The restaurant will feature multiple TVs with sports games and serve beer hall dishes like burgers, sausages and Bavarian pretzel bites. Gluten-free and vegan options like vegan currywurst also are available.

Taste Addison returns after 3-year hiatus

Three-day food and music festival Taste Addison will be held May 13 to May 15 after a three-year absence. The event, held at Addison Circle Park, 4970 Addison Circle Drive in Addison, showcases food offerings from local restaurants and companies. It will include musical performances, including a concert by The Band Perry. Tickets are $15 for adults for $10 for kids ages 4 to 12. Details and tickets are available at www.tasteaddisontexas.com

New eateries opening in Victory Park

Downtown Dallas shopping and eating center Victory Park, located between Interstate 35E and Woodall Rodgers Freeway, will welcome health food restaurant Freshii this summer. The 1,767-square-foot store will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner from its spot on Victory Park Lane next to Jimmy John’s.

Also headed to Victory Park at 2300 Victory Park Lane is a BuzzBrews Kitchen, expect to open in the spring. BuzzBrews, open 24 hours, will serve all three meals, as well as cold and hot coffees, wine and beer.

Much-anticipated coffee shop Cafe Victoria, at 2422 Victory Park Lane, Ste. 100 is open at the center, serving Victory Park visitors coffee and pastries.

Street taco shop signs on at Highland Village

Austin-based taco favorite Torchy’s Tacos is expect to open at The Shops at Highland Village this fall. The eatery signed a lease for 5,262 square feet in the shopping center, at 1701 Shoal Creek in Highland Village, just southeast of Denton. Torchy’s, which has more than 30 locations in Texas alone, specializes in street tacos and serves local beers and craft cocktails.

Coal-fired pizzeria coming to Cedar Hill

After hundreds of residents took to social media and signed an on-site banner asking for a location, Grimaldi’s is feeding the frenzy with plans to open a restaurant in Cedar Hill this summer. The restaurant will span 6,500 square feet and be in the former Patrizio’s space at Hillside Village, 305 W. FM 1382 in Cedar Hill. Grimaldi’s will serve coal-fired pizzas and calzones, salads and desserts.

Frisco restaurant keeps name, changes concept

After changing its menu, theme, concept, management, owner and staff, Ace’s Ice House & Chop Shop will relaunch with a grand opening this weekend. Between 11 a.m. and midnight on Saturday and Sunday, Ace’s will offer discounted beers, wine and cocktails and half-off appetizers, as well as a raffles and giveaways. Ace’s is at 9250 Dallas Parkway, Ste. 130, in Frisco.
