Trademark Property Announces New “Waterside” Development

Mixed-use property coming to central Fort Worth in spring 2015

FORT WORTH, Texas (May 16, 2013) – Trademark Property Company, the Fort Worth-based real estate development, investments, and services firm, today announced plans for Waterside, a new 63-acre master planned mixed-use development to be built in Fort Worth, Texas.

Located on the Trinity River at Bryant Irvin Road and Arborlawn Drive in central Fort Worth, Waterside will be a walkable shopping, leisure, office, hotel and residential district with an unmatched amenity package including a new extension of the Trinity Trails, including a trailhead with a bicycle repair and air station, an internal trail system, a signature bridge, canoeing and kayaking, a dog park, a central plaza with outdoor dining and recreation areas for children and adults, and a riverfront amphitheater. Plans for the development include 200,000 square feet of retail space and riverside restaurants, 20-30 acres of multi-family and townhomes, 100,000-200,000 square feet of office space, and two hotel sites. Construction is set to begin in spring 2014 with phase one scheduled to open spring of 2015.

“We at Trademark are so excited to have the opportunity to develop this beautiful piece of land with over a mile-and-a-half of river frontage and access to the Trinity Trails,” said Trademark Chairman and CEO Terry Montesi. “This site has it all and we plan to be extraordinary stewards of this great piece of real estate, including the retention of many specimen trees.

“There is tremendous visibility to Bryant Irvin and unsurpassed access from all of central, west and southwest Fort Worth, including the TCU area, via Bryant Irvin Road and the new Arborlawn Drive connection and the interchange at the Chisholm Trail Parkway. We are looking forward to working with the City of Fort Worth and the Tarrant Regional Water District to make this high quality development a reality.”

The two road projects currently underway will make access to Waterside even more convenient for shoppers. Arborlawn Drive, connecting Bryant Irvin Road and Hulen Street, feeds directly into Waterside and will open this summer, while the Chisholm Trail Parkway, a 27.6-mile toll road that will extend from downtown Fort Worth to Cleburne, is located only a few hundred yards from Waterside and is scheduled for completion in spring 2014.

Trademark is under contract to purchase the land from the Lockheed Martin Recreation Association (LMRA), which owns 79 acres at that location. LMRA is a separate non-profit corporation providing recreational facilities and activities for Lockheed Martin employees, retirees and dependents. The Association plans to retain a sport, fitness and hobby center along with two softball fields and two sand volleyball courts at their Bryant Irvin location, as well as Squaw Creek Golf Course in Willow Park.
